So what's the difference between a bucket and an album?
What's a Bucket?
Think of a Bucket like a file cabinet. You can store many things here, like loose images and folders full of organized images (your albums). You can create buckets for your family, friends, sports team, events, and organizations.
Buckets allow you to:
- Switch the type of the Bucket
- Invite members to collaborate
- Manage Bucket member role and permissions
- Add albums for more organization
- Create and manage sharing links
What's an Album?
Think of an album as a folder that can be stored inside the file cabinet. This album will help you further organize your images. Albums are added to an existing bucket for more organization.
Albums allow you to:
- Share using sharing links
- Download & upload content specific to that album
- Create albums or sub-albums
So what's best for me?
Well, that depends on what you need and what you are trying to do.
If you are looking for a space where your family and friends can upload, download, and share photos easily, then create a bucket for this group.
If you are looking to manage and organize photos on your account and don't need to share, then create albums to help you organize your photos to your liking.
While many of the features, like sharing overlap between buckets and albums, remember that buckets allow you to manage members and content, while albums allow you to manage only content.
